The Pocket Range
The ultimate in luxury, a pocketed bed contains almost 1,500 individual spring units, each of which is contained in its own fabric nest. These are tied together to ensure a uniform sleeping surface and hand stiched to the side of the mattress for added stability. Layers of curled hair, cotton felt and lambswool are used to cover the pocketed spring units thus guaranteeing a luxurious and comfortable sleeping surface. Hand tufting using tensioned twine provides an upholstered finish - a mark of traditional craftmanship.
The Open Coil Range To create the 'open coil' structure the finest british high tensile wire
is tempered into individual springs. These are then linked together and framed with a heavy guage wire to retain the mattress shape and to ensure the correct level of firmness. Multiple layers of natural and man made fibres are blended together to provide the right balance of comfort and support. Finally an attractive and durable fabric cover is bonded to the layers of fillings under a 'high-loft' or 'micro-quilted' surface. Depending on the model hand tufting is applied.
